Modern Country Living for Busy Family Life.
Our client came to us with an open brief to design a family home that worked for busy family life, incorporating teenagers, dogs and working from home. Over a period of weeks, we gradually developed a theme that suited the family with a nod to the fact that it was an older house in a semi-rural location. We agreed on a modern country style with reclaimed flooring and rustic tiling and took inspiration from a small sample of fabric for the colours throughout the home.
Layout was key, with an extension across the full width of the house including bifold doors to the garden, and materials were repeated throughout the design to give a cohesive feel. The entire floorplan was reconfigured, with an ensuite added to the master bedroom and a utility room incorporated on the ground floor with an adjacent shower room.
